Methods for Repairing PO Films

The coated PO film is made by removing components such as anti - fogging agents and anti - dripping agents from the functional masterbatch during the processing, and after blow molding, through a coating process, applying a coating liquid with anti - fogging and anti - dripping functions onto a very thin and uniform base film, and then drying and curing it. PO film has the characteristics of high strength, good anti - aging performance, high light transmittance, and low functional decay rate, and can be used continuously for 5 to 6 years. The old film is easy to handle, can be used as a renewable resource, and will not emit harmful gases when incinerated. PO film has been produced and promoted in Japan. In recent years, some domestic manufacturers have produced and sold it, but it has not been widely promoted and applied.

PO film is a kind of agricultural film often used in the agricultural industry. It is very popular among consumers because of its good light transmittance and strong heat - insulation performance. However, PO film will inevitably be damaged during use. So, how should we repair the PO film when this problem occurs?

  1. If the PO film has minor damage, you can use a piece of paper dipped in water, and it can last for about 10 days.

  2. Scrub the damaged part of the PO film, cut a piece of film without a hole that is slightly larger than the damaged part, dip it in water and stick it on the hole, and expel the air between the two films.

  3. Mix white flour and water into a paste, then add red enamel equivalent to one - third of the weight of the dry flour, and heat it slightly to patch the film. After removing the film from the greenhouse, repair methods should be used. If a thick - textured film is damaged, it can be covered with a film of the same texture and connected with thin threads and tight seams. You can also clean the damaged part, cover the hole with a slightly larger film, cover it with 2 - 3 layers of newspaper, and gently press along the seam with an electric iron. The two layers of film will be heated and melted, and then they will stick together after cooling. This method is called the heat - patching method.

  4. Wash the area around the hole, dip a brush in special glue and apply it. After 3 - 5 minutes, take a piece of film of the same texture and stick it on. When the glue dries, it will be firmly bonded. The heat - patching method and the glue - patching method have better patching effects for the grouting film. However, the seam - patching method not only leaks air but also is easy to pull apart. Do not use a thick - textured film.
